I make photographic montages using small thumbnails of photographs and placing them
together to make a coherent whole.
The concept was born when I took many family photo shoots in the same area.
I then had a 3am idea to try and make a new scene out of the edges of these photos.
The technique now involves taking multiple photos of an area or scene at
different angles, perspectives, time of day and sometimes time of year.
These images are then painstakingly jiggled together to create a new impressionist
composite image that evokes the original view.
I also montage together aspects of urban spaces like colour,
typography and street art, celebrating vibrancy hidden in plain sight.
Predominantly depicting Sheffield and the Peak District, the range expands as I travel.
It currently includes coastal scenes of Lytham St Annes and Wells-next-the-Sea,
a range of Lake District landscapes and a growing number of UK cities including Liverpool, Brighton and Bristol.
